Online art matchmaking

What happens when we first encounter a work of art without the artist’s name, its price, or any explanation? ARTCRUSH is built for that moment. Godot’s artistic discovery game and the Godot Art Expo were also showcased in the RTL News.

A picture stands still. Perhaps because of its colours, perhaps a familiar figure or an unsayable mood draws you in. You do not yet know who made it, but you already want to see it again. ARTCRUSH starts from this personal encounter.

With familiar gestures of the seekers more than two thousand genuine contemporary works you can choose among them. Pull the one you are about to release to the left, the one you like to the right, and the one that has struck you especially upwards. You can also choose with buttons. The game can be played for free, launched from a browser.

First the work, then the name

Meeting contemporary art is often preceded by an uncertainty: will we be able to form an opinion about it? ARTCRUSH gives space to the first impression. You need not justify why you are drawn to a picture, and it is natural if your opinion changes later.

The image set is built from your favourite works. You can revisit them, enlarge them, and open the artefact and artist information with the “Learn about the artist” button. The exploration therefore moves from the initial feeling to personal interest.

In the game the emerging CRUSH This indicates a more sustained attention: a work you will return to later. Only one choice remains, the very start of the encounter.

Your own selection can also be the start of a conversation.

As you view more pieces, connections between your choices may begin to emerge. Recurrent colours, unusual spaces, figures, materials or moods may surface. Your selection does not reflect your taste; it allows you to notice what you are looking at.

You can still send a shareable work to someone. Will they see the same thing? Will they stop, or will they head in a completely different direction? A picture can become a subject of shared curiosity and conversation.

Museum objects of the 21 century

ARTCRUSH is one of the Godot digital art tools. From personal interest to discovering the work to placing it at home, several paths are available: the technology connects to the viewer's curiosity.
