Godot Institute of Contemporary Art
Space for art.
Space to meet.
We are an independent contemporary art institution in Budapest. Godot’s story began with Godot Gallery in 1999 and continues through exhibitions, artists and audiences.
Godot Gallery, the Godot Institute and Godot Labor Gallery share a commitment to artistic freedom and new ways of encountering art. We organise exhibitions, support artistic careers and create opportunities for meaningful encounters with artworks.
Our spaces
Godot Institute and Godot Labor Gallery
Fényes Adolf utca 21, 1036 Budapest. The Institute, opened in 2019, presents large-scale exhibitions; Labor gives younger artists and experimental projects room to develop.
Godot Gallery
Bartók Béla út 11–13, 1114 Budapest. The gallery has built long-term relationships with artists and collectors since 1999.
We believe curiosity is enough to begin a conversation with contemporary art. You do not need to be an expert to visit.
The detailed institutional history and archival references are available on the Hungarian page.
