If you’re only planning to see one exhibition this year, make this the one – the Godot Institute

which, in fact, is two exhibitions covering 1100 square metres. azevkiallitasa.hu

At the Godot Institute, the exhibitions “Kérem, sóhajtson, Széchenyi Úr!” and “it’s fine – a tehetetlen kiállítás” can be visited with a single ticket, offering a true curiosity for lovers of art and contemporary visual art thinking.

In a 1100 square‑metre area, thrilling and lively exhibitions make the visitor feel as if they’re being whisked straight into Western Europe, all wrapped in intense excitement, projections, breathing walls, and a rubber‑doll swing.

Koronczi Endre’s exhibition “Kérem, sóhajtson, Széchenyi Úr!” sought to exalt the cosmic airflow and its connection with the human environment. The central installation, built from the ventilation system of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, functions as a metaphor for wind and breath, creating gusts and a revolving fan and thereby sparking the visitors’ imagination.

The “it’s fine – a tehetetlen kiállítás” is a wholly different exhibition, showcasing the anti-superhero movement of the “it’s fine” artist group. With tools of social critique and irony, it tackles contemporary issues, placing a focus on the yearning for hopelessness, depression and the ability to ignore. The aim of the four‑part installation, which fills the space, is to amplify the critical voice and shake up the art scene.

Visiting both exhibitions together offers more than just an artistic experience; it is a profound journey into the mysteries of art, society and the human soul. Koronczi and the works of the artist group “it’s fine”, though approached in different ways, complement one another to give insight into the diversity of contemporary art. These two shows therefore truly deserve the title of the year’s exhibitions, providing every visitor with a unique and rich experience.
