Nagy Kriszta: A múzeumok falára festek, nem a kanapéd fölé 2006-12-13 — 2006-12-23 - Godot Galéria

Nagykriszta’s exhibition at the Godot Gallery

We must wait.

Opening: 2006 December 13 at 8 in the evening.

opens: Spengler Katalin, art collector

the exhibition title: they paint on museum walls, not on your sofa

An artwork titled 10 is visible in the large room, on which the above message repeatedly addresses itself, circling from various angles and touching the stark statement. The walls feature a surrounding series in which the X‑Kriss figures braid each other’s hair, alluding to the artist’s own estrangement. It is now, during a period when the contemporary market seems to revive, when it looks as if artists finally have the chance to turn their talent into money, and when Nagy Kriszta decides she wants to distance herself from the deeply corrupt nature of the current visual‑art world, a world where curators, gallerists and artists, in their self‑serving way, neglect the pursuit of authenticity and care only about selling their talent well, even to the devil, because he pays sooner.

In the gallery he exhibits X’s holy images, in a devilish fashion, whose models are naturally immaculate. The pieces remind us that God exists, that we are made in God’s own image, as His children, and they ask contemporary art consumers to show respect for that living person who has yet to die even after decades, centuries, and millennia.

Peach

Pannon GSM does not back this gallery because it isn’t ABC, so there’s no need for them to produce a big crystal plagiarism; they can create the big crystal themselves instead. 🙂

Open until December 23 from Tuesday to Friday 10–18; on Saturday between 10 and 13.

I love you.
