Opening: Nagy Kriszta x‑T

The new pieces, stitched onto the paper the artist has cut, mix text written on the paper with textiles and are framed with metal rods, leaning toward the mood of wall hangers. They blend in wisdom, humour and irony, and, of course, from a feminist point of view they look at the current situation. They express the artist’s faith and the relationship between woman and man – how it shifts under the pressure of our time. She sews on women’s and men’s underwear, re‑qualifies it, and places it in a different context. These stitched images strongly recall Kriszta’s old diary drawings, but the technique is entirely new, eye‑catching and “cool” (sic) and very funny. This collection cannot entirely escape politics, for politics are already in briefs, and certainly in undershirts.
