An unprecedented record in Hungarian visual arts: The exhibition everyone is talking about!

The leading figure of Hungarian contemporary art, Imre Bukta, has already made an unforgettable milestone with his monumental exhibition “Műveljük Kertjeinket!” The show has attracted more than 16 000 visitors to date, setting a historic record among solo exhibitions in the Hungarian visual‑arts arena. The display held at the Godot Kortárs Művészeti Intézet finished with extraordinary success, charting a new direction for the presentation of domestic contemporary visual art.

Those who have not yet had the opportunity to view these stunning works are strongly encouraged to visit the Godot Intézet’s 1100‑square‑metre exhibition room as soon as possible, as the exhibition will be open only until 27 August.

More than 50 paintings, installations, moving sculptures and video works created specifically for this project are already carving out a significant place in this year’s cultural events, thanks to the huge interest, and they deserve to be dubbed the exhibition of the year. The showcased installations are displayed solely at this venue within the Godot Institute, where the artist has brought to life a distinctive spatial concept reminiscent of the Beli exhibition in the Art Hall ten years ago.

Bukta Imre’s monumental exhibition not only captivates visitors with its artistic richness, but also provides insight into the depths of human existence through its profound themes and thought‑provoking perspective. The unique messages underlying the works embrace, inspiring the audience toward deeper self‑reflection and understanding, and acquainting them with the enchanting ambience of rural Hungary through the use of the most modern artistic techniques.

The “Műveljük Kertjeinket!” exhibition will welcome visitors at the Godot Contemporary Art Institute until 27 August 2023.
