Endre Koronczi’s decades‑long research and collecting work has produced an exhibition titled “Kérem, sóhajtson Széchenyi Úr!”, which celebrates a cosmic airflow that links people to their surroundings.
The exhibition’s central installation is a monumental art object constructed from the ventilation system of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Over time it has acquired symbolic significance; inside the building’s working interior, the elements that jointly supply the breathing of hundreds of brilliant scientists—emerging from their former hidden places—demonstrate a particular kind of air pathway. Wind and breath become a metaphor for the soul within the show, where Koronczi creates eddies and rotating fans, stirring visitors’ imagination with genuine air movements. The videos, kinetic installations and graphics featured in the exhibition titled *Kérem, sóhajtson Széchényi Úr!* draw on the everyday experience of wind to convey the beauty and power of the invisible, unseen airflow.
Endre Koronczi has been a defining figure in Hungary’s progressive visual arts scene since the 90s. He was awarded the Munkácsy Mihály Award in 2022. Aside from his international exhibitions, his shows have appeared at several prominent domestic venues, including the Budapest Galéria, Műcsarnok, Kiscelli Múzeum, Off‑Biennálé, ICA‑D, Ludwig Múzeum, Trafó Kortárs Művészetek Háza, Ferenczy Múzeumi Centrum, MODEM, Magyar Nemzeti Galéria and Robert Capa Kortárs Fotográfiai Központ.
