By recognising an object as art, regardless of the medium it takes, we get the opportunity to peek into the deeper structure of relationships and connections.
The first veil may fall. Distance is formed between the image we create through seeing and reality. Nothing is simply what it seems to be, indeed, it is not even that.
I sought well‑known and anonymous faces, beings, who rebelled against social and ethical norms. Are they truly rebels or merely deviants??? These beings have already erected monuments to themselves in their own lives. "Creatures" exist in a kind of excited, exalted nervous state, with strong mimicry.
The majority of the faces were made on aluminium sheets; earlier I had already experimented with this very “cute,” proszektúrák palette of swaths that evoke a cold, metallic feel. The images on the sheet are cold, backgroundless, mirrors – moreover, blurred, jagged mirrors – in which our bodies and faces are also reflected.
