"'With warm greetings to our dear liberators!' – a contemporary experimental chamber piece.

War is happening. The many forms of violence bombard our peace. The walls of concealment crumble, and our lives unravel uncontrollably. Inside and outside cease, and only the outside remains.

The ivory towers will crumble, and the artists will find themselves on one of the frontlines. What they have hitherto painted on canvas will from now on be painted on the walls of houses, and what they have hitherto painted on the walls of houses will from now on be painted on canvases during the lunch breaks.

And when all hope is exhausted, light erupts at the end of the tunnel! The liberators arrive! But fortunately these are not the ones who carry everything while they murder him on a mound, whom they only know, but paintings! The ones whose world, tales, mood, beauty liberate.

In drMáriás's latest paintings we can see liberators: historical figures, revolutionaries, dictators, politicians who present themselves as liberators; anonymous rebels who, as new liberators, attack the old ones; poets, artists whose art truly liberates; religious, financial and other leaders who, in their view, free us from everyday hardships, while in reality doing the exact opposite.

In the realm of performance theatre the worlds of Warhol, Banksy, Le Rat, Schiele, Picasso, Adami and others are evoked, where figures from Ady Endre and József Attila to Stalin, from Petőfi and Lugosi Béla to Marx, from Mészáros Lőrinc to Soros György to the chimpanzees appear, all in order that a liberating feeling emerge from them as a counter‑point to the global war ignited and destroyed by infantile instincts.

For now there is hardly any other liberator for us than art.

The exhibition can be viewed until June 3, from Tuesday to Friday 10 and 14, on Saturday between 10 and 13.
