Short listing
Jochann Wundertracht a nemzetközileg elismert environmentalista művész, a Secret City Art (SCA) műfaj megteremtője – miután sajnos halaszthatatlan teendő miatt nem tudott a megnyitón megjelenni – azzal a nagylelkű gesztussal élt a hazai közönség irányába, hogy a Godot Galériában megrendezett első budapesti kiállítása alatt az ott szereplő műveket tetszőleges áron kínálta megvásárlásra.
Full exhibition text
Jochann Wundertracht is an internationally recognised environmental artist, the pioneer of the Secret City Art (SCA) genre – after he was unfortunately unable to attend the opening due to unavoidable commitments – lived for the local audience with a generous gesture, offering the works displayed at his first Budapest exhibition in the Godot Gallery for purchase at any price.
Naturally, during the exhibition all the works were inventoried.
The artist feels it is important that Wundertracht’s works get into the hands of ordinary people and even collectors who otherwise would not be able to afford them, as this allows him to spread the freedom of art.

Jochann Wundertracht, the German‑born internationally acclaimed visual artist and founder of the Secret City Art (SCA) style, has once again settled in our country after 10 years. His return aims to produce smaller pieces that are more digestible and comprehensible for the Hungarian audience following his earlier large‑scale works created in Budapest (Szabadság híd becsomagolása, budapesti forgalmi dugók létrehozása, stb.), thereby paving the way for the acceptance and interpretation of the SCA school. In the Godot Gallery on 2018 September 5 at 19 o’clock the opening exhibition serves as the final act of the new Budapest SCA project, where, in an unconventional fashion, the curtain falls on the works produced here and the details behind the inspirations, materials and ideas employed by the artist unfold before us.
