Excerpt from the manifesto titled "I Am an Expired Disc".

A person will gradually become a disc that has expired, and suddenl<g>y the needle of the machine will jam in his throat.

There are things that you don't find when you’re looking for them, but later on another occasion when you’re not even looking.

Excerpt from the manifesto titled I Am the Expired Disc.

Could everything that is operational become forever permanent? It seemed from the start that we would finish with the infinite. A designated losing spot for smoking! They say that even in a vacuum of empty space there can be another, a hidden vacuum. The proposal is doubtful. Sweet change is lacking. When novelty also ages. A pretty, well-shaped ultralight was a deputy director at the Sapka Museum. The low temperature hampered an outstanding man. Then we set out to discover the grit of the ROAD.

Felugossy László is an unavoidable figure of the East‑European avant‑garde. His versatility knows no limits: painter, actor, film director, writer, performer and underground musician in one person. From 1968 to 1977 he has co‑organised the Sala de Eib sing outdoors exhibitions with István efZámbó, and in addition with the company of János Szirtes he has staged actions and happenings. In 1972 he founded the Salon Lajos Vajda in Szentendre, from whose circle of artists emerged the legendary art‑rock formation, the singer and lyricist of the A. E. Committee between 1979 and 1986. In 1990 he received the Munkácsy Award. At the start of his career he was greatly influenced by the paintings of Menyhért Tóth. (From 1986 his group and solo exhibitions have been regular.) His experimental creative process is characterised by motivation, spontaneity and naturalness. Using collage techniques he paints, draws, applies photographs, produces videos and writes verses. In his works – in the spirit of pop‑art object culture – he utilises an odd mix of everyday objects. Through installations, objects, unique object‑collages and acrylic/oil paintings on various supports (wood, canvas, mosquito net, paper, etc.) he always strives for novelty. His cross‑disciplinary, branching output is boundless and cannot be segmented into eras. His works are inseparable from one another and operate within a sort of independent, self‑contained system. The underlying elements of his immanent visual world were inspired by distinctive Hungarian conditions, which create a particular philosophical quality. The whispers that recall the slow decay of remnants in development are not forced; on the contrary, they aim to win and absorb ironically. His visual allure is given by a depiction style rich in symbols and seasoned with bold colour patches, and a raw honesty lurking behind. His irregular, sometimes interchanged‑limb‑shaped mysterious female figures seem to wish to communicate with their silent gaze. Each narrative work reveals shocking life situations, which blend a grotesque formality radiating neoprimitivism with an unmasked, intense sexuality.

Its current exhibition presents a selection of the artist’s works from 2000 to 2010, made in a spirit similar to the earlier pieces, with the same shape‑distorting intellect that the artist is known for.
