On December 13 at 18 o’clock the exhibition of visual artist Endre Koronczi opens at the Godot Gallery. It is opened by
Koronczi Endre, as a graphic artist, completed the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. In addition to traditional printing techniques—lithography, screen printing, copper engraving—he also explored the latest replication methods. In his quest for new media and possibilities he was drawn into the realm of computer‑generated prints. The core of this relatively recent technique is that the image manipulated by the computer is not made visible by a printer; instead it is transferred onto photographic stock using a photographic process. As a result the prints are durable and long‑lasting.
The exhibition’s material is drawn from Koronczi’s latest works. The artist has produced quasi‑fashion photographs that, in their appearance and presentation, resemble the advertising posters placed in shops – ones we inevitably see far more often than necessary. Koronczi photographed shoes in impeccably composed advertising settings, but he affixed the word ISTEN to the sole of some and to the top of others. This duality lends the images their thought‑provoking absurdity: how the visual world of advertising collides with weighty, sacred content.
We produced a colourful catalogue for the exhibition, which contains its images.

Koronczi Endre completed his studies at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts as a graphic artist. In addition to traditional printmaking techniques – lithography, screenprinting and etching – he was drawn to the latest reproduction methods. During his search for new approaches and possibilities he arrived at the world of computer prints. The essence of this method, which has developed over the last few years, is that the image material manipulated by the computer is not rendered visible by a printer, but is transferred onto photographic stock using photographic processes. This way the print becomes durable and long‑lasting.
The exhibition is made up of Koronczi’s most recent works. This time the artist has taken images that resemble quasi‑fashion photographs – shots that in both appearance and presentation mirror the advert posters displayed in shops, which at times we find appearing more often than is strictly necessary. Koronczi photographed shoes set against a perfectly composed advertising backdrop, but he has etched the word ISTEN onto the sole of some and onto the top of others. It is this duality that gives the images their thought‑provoking absurdity: how the visual world of advertising collides with the weighty, sacral subject matter.
We produced a colourful catalogue for the exhibition, which contains images of the exhibition.
We warmly welcome you to the opening and during the exhibition period.
